Did You Know …
The Easter bunny has it origin in pre- Christianity fertility folklore. The hare and the rabbit were the most fertile animals known and they served as symbols of the new life during Spring.
The first edible Easter bunnies were made in Germany during the early 1800’s. They were made of pastry and sugar. Not sure we’d get away with that these days !!
How to Plan an Easter Egg Hunt Party for your kids
- Decorate the house and garden with lots of pastel coloured balloons, cut out rabbits, eggs, carrots and lots of streamers.
- Hide lots of small chocolate easter eggs around the garden and house making sure you make it easier for the little kids to find the eggs. Include one plastic egg filled with a piece of paper that reads ‘Congratulations’.
- Set up a table inside with colored paper bags, markers and stickers. Have the children decorate and personalize a bag to hold the Easter eggs they found during the hunt.
- Whoever found the egg with the ‘Congratulations’ inside should receive a prize like a huge chocolate egg or bunny.
- Involve the children in egg and spoon races or a bunny hop race.
- Finally, serve your weary bunch some Easter related refreshm
